You are providing care for Nora on her second post-operative day. She is expecting to stay in hospital for approximately 4 days. In morning hand over you were told her post-operative recovery has been uneventful so far. Her wound dressing is intact and she has an intravenous therapy running Normal/Saline 0.9% 1000ml, 12 hourly, with a morphine Patient Controlled Analgesia pump via a side line. As you greet Nancy she tells you she did not have a 鈥榞ood night鈥?and has felt nauseated and unwell since waking she also tells you that she has just vomited. She also mentions that she is too afraid to cough as she is concerned about the pain getting worse and bursting her wound. Her vital signs documented at 6am temperature 37.1oC, pulse 90b/min, respiratory rate 20b/min, BP120/65mmHg. Nancy says she does not feel like eating breakfast Who is NOra and what was her significance in this post TAHBSO patient case study. i can give u several nursing diagnosis...like alteration in comfort related to pain, knowledge deficit related to post operative procedure, impaired o2 exhange related to ...impaired skin integrity related to surgical procedure etc..ur interventions can be based on these nursing diagnosis..get ur brains to work, thats how u will get used to developing nursing care plan Sounds like an examination question? I would google it. You are taking care of Nora, so why are you writing nursing care plans for Nancy?? Trick question. Instructor probably wants you to say wrong pt. |
