How much does a nurse earn per week/year? |
Around how much money would a nurse earn in Australia?...and how much study is envolved? (how many years)...i want to get into a good paying job so i can move out of home. Im 20 yrs old and still living with my parents...i currently earn only $320 a week at a reception job and cant afford to move out... I work for a company in the US that staffs hospitals with medical professionals- we pay our nurses anywhere from 23-35 dollars per hour (I'm told that's on the low end of things). My company requires a college degree (Bachelors of Science) in Nursing (RN), or BSN- If you have a Masters degree we pay even more. It takes a minimum of 4 years to get your RN degree in the US- Midwives are paid slightly less than Nurses but have more specialized training as they have to be certified as a Midwife as well as have a Nursing degree ( I know... it doesn't make sense).... I hope that helps (it's late... sorry if that's somewhat vague)- I wish I could say it's the same the world around but your best bet would be to call up a temporary staffing agency that works with nurses and medical professionals and find out what their requirements are for employment. If a 4 year degree feels like more than you can handle right now you can also become a certified nursing assistant (CNA), Radiology technician, pharmacy technician, x-ray tech etc with only 2 years of school at what we call a community college (basically just a dumb way of saying 2 year college)- They get paid slightly less but it's probably more than what you're making now. Best wishes to you! 5 bucks Registered nurses who work full-time can earn anywhere from $35,000 to $65,000 a year. However, they can make even more by doing overtime work. Nurses also receive pay for being "on-call," which means they are ready to go to work on a moment's notice if needed. Nurses with additional training, or who work as managers or administrators, may make as much as $75,000 a year. no idea about Australia. In the US pay can vary greatly depending on specialty and whether the person is staff or working Agency. I know Agency RNs that make $40+ hour easy. Lot of variables. |
