I want to become a veterinary nurse, how is it?

Although im quite a bit away from becoming old enough to be one, i've decided that want I want to do in life is to be a vet nurse.

If anyone out there is one, how long did it take you to study/become one? was it hard?
I live in Australia, so if any one would know, how long does it take there?

also, how is vet nursing? I really love animals, but not too keen on operating on them and such. i would love to know some stories and things about it too :)

I believe that the program you are looking for is that of a veterinary technician/veterinary assistant.

I am not sure about the requirements in Australia, but here in the United States you can go to tech school and get your certificate for that. It takes about two years.

It will be a lot easier than becoming a veterinarian (as my daughter wants to be), as veterinary school is very competitive here. I am certain that it will be challenging for you, but if you love animals I am sure the challenge will be something you will overcome.

I wish you the best!
