How do you get over the fear of the dead?

I am studying to be a nurse and I am really really afraid of the dead and blood how do you get over that?

You need to be more afraid of the living, The dead can't hurt you

thanks but i think that it is just the though of being dead that scares me. but i will work on it Report It

Dont be a nurse

change jobs

find another occupation

well first of all i would say pick a new career field. secondly i would say why did you post this in singles and dating? do you want to get over your fear so you can date dead people?

Visit a mortuary.

What are you afraid of, there dead!!! I think you're in the wrong job.

i so agree with jrtoosiepop....
lol....

Go to a local hospital and talk to people who work there. Ask them what they did. Chances are it is something that you will eventually get over. Although, there is a chance that you might not....so do some research..... volunteer at the local hospital
and try to overcome your fear.

Try to overcome your fear before changing careers.

hey its natural to be afaid of the dead iam but evently the more you work on being in the field of a nurse you will get used to it!!
all that blood and guts thing!!

First of all, what exactly is the root of your fears? You need to figure that out. Second, why in the world are you studying to be a nurse if you can't stand the sight of blood or the dead? Sometimes, there are certain fears you can't get rid of, I'm afraid. Visit a therapist, ask them how to confront your fears. But also be ready to change your career if you can't.

you need to face the fact that death is unstopable. Blood gives life so don't fear it. It's all in your head. Find another way to look at your fear and make it not so scary. You are going to save others with your training but don't let the one's you can't help stop you from helping the one's you can.

How can you be a nurse if you fear blood? You need to consider changing careers

my mom told me that she was that before when she was taking up nursing.,she said that she had to face it,,not be afraid of it,anyway she decided to take that curse so y not face whatever it takes..and now she's used to it.do the same way,,u know the concequences of that course,,and still u took that course,,so i guess u have the courage to face ur fear.

well I had to watch my puppy die and than clean it up and bury it...It was the hardiest thing I've ever had to do....I wouldn't worry about because I think the first time you see something die or bleed or what ever you'll get use to it. I mean your gonna have to if you wanna be a nurse.

Touch a dead person you'll see they don't hurt you.It might take a few times but it works. Blood is blood you just get use to it. But from the the way you sound, it's not going to work. If you get to close to a patient and they die you might not be able to cope with it. Good luck with your choice of a carrier..
