From childhood, my niece studied hard in maths and science, now she is a nurse, but my nephew was not good?

in studying, but he is now a magazine picture retouching and make more money than my niece.
Why we give value to art much more than science ?
without art, we can survive.
but without science, we die.
and studying art is so comfortable, luxury,
but studying science is so tough,
so we should not encourage our children to study hard, just let them to play sports, games, dressing, good looking, acting, then, let they become an artist, and in the future, let's see how the world will be, if without scientist.

I am happy with my nephew, sure.
but the main idea is why social give value to art much more than science ?
anyone please answer this main question.

Salary levels are determined by supply and demand./Things for the two jobs may change in the future. Your nephew may also have an unusually high talent in art. Society is not always fair and logical.

u said the answer yourself we can live without such luxuries as art but choose not to... humans not only survive but create. I'm not saying the world doesn't need scientists but in fact your niece is not I'm pretty sure scientists make far much more than a nurse just look it up. And you should be happy your nephew found something he enjoys and is successful
