Discharge question...Women only!!?

I'm 38 wks / 4 days pregnant with my first, it's a girl. Last time I went to the docs she said I could have her any day now. I've been having brown/dark red discharge for about 2 weeks now. She told me that most likely was my cervix ripening (mucous discharge). This morning though after intercourse I had yellow discharge...in small little jelly looking clumps. Sorry if too much information. If you can't handle it don't answer. And don't tell me to call the doctor...they're not open and they're answering service sucks. I will call when they open. I would prefer moms, pregos, drs, nurses, ppl who study med, anyone who can answer me SERIOUSLY who know what the hell they're talking about. Thanks!

No smarta** answers please!!
I'm pregnant and on the edge!!!!!!

The doc said I was losing my plug which is what I said before ^^...my question was was that a part of it too?? I haven't had a "big clump" yet like everyone talks about. The doc said I was losing it slowly. And how long after this happened to mom's or prego's did you go into labor??

The small jelly looking clumps sound like your mucous plug, the thing about cervical mucus it comes back, it is there to help clean the vagina out and keep it sanitary and the right Ph. When you are pregnant your body usually steps up making it to protect the baby, so over the last month you usually lose vast quantities of the horrible snotty looking stuff, your cervix is ripening and you are losing mucus and it sounds gross but good. The intercourse you had with your partner/husband probably might have triggered something and you lost more mucus. There are prostaglandins in semen which is manufactured by your body during labour to have contractions and ripen things. Call your Doctor when you are able, but I doubt there is anything wrong with your baby, just your body gearing up a bit more. The Doc my want to give you an internal soon and see where you are at, but I think you will be having this baby soon
Good luck sweetie!!!

could it be show(some mucus with traces of blood)? sometimes blood can look yellow, brown light red till dark red. if u r feeling some pains with that y dun u just go to the ER?good luck and praying for yr safe delivery.

could this be your plug? or have you already lost it? the jelly consistancy that u describe sounds very much like this although in most cases it is clear and has blood streak in it, and is around the size of a 10 pence peice but everyone is different. As no one can actually see it and only go by your description id say your not going to get a very accurate answer until you go to the docs! good luck

Hi sweet heart at this time the body goes through lots of changes...as your baby is important to you...perhaps if its not too far or too much of a mission you should go to a & e. For peace of mind i would....you have come this far already...x

Hmmmm...
Well I know when I lost my plug with my first pregnancy it looked like what you are describing. It was light yellowish-green and like a big ole' nasty snot glob! Many women have blood in their plugs, but not everyone. That may be what it is. When you start getting close like this, things can get nasty. You've seen or at least heard about afterbirth, right? There is some gnarly stuff up inside you right now! As long as it is not plain, bright red blood, you can pretty much call it "normal".

Oh, and I'm sorry for whatever experience you must have had to make you freak out about the possibility of someone's reaction to your question. I have always found that there aren't many boundaries when it comes to us pregos and "too many details". Pregnancy is weird and scary and "gross". You gotta just say it because beating around the bush does not get the job done. You can come have dinner at my house, hon...anything goes here!

There is no set time schedule on when labor will come. For some women losing the plug is the last straw and labor follows within hours or days. For others, it is merely a small boring step that happens a long way out. I lost mine about a month before my due date. (Had a planned c-section.) Another lady I talked to said she lost hers 6 weeks before giving birth. It's not a good indicator.

the same thing happened to me at 37 wks. i went to the er and was sent home. they told me it was the start of my plug coming out and until it's red or pink they wouldn't do anything. i was so upset! i had to have close contractions or my water break for them to keep me. i ended up being induced at 39 weeks because i was in so much pain! i couldn't take it anymore!

With my son, I lost a big clump. With my daughter, I just had stringy discharge for a few days. Probably losing your plug a little at a time. It's icky, but it's normal. If your cervix is opening really slowly, then it'll only come out a little at a time.

Sounds like your plug to me! i had a small show, then it really came out but then i had a little bit more..... (you know when you wipe after going to the loo) but it was about another 2 days before baby actually arrived. Although, i only felt contractions right at the very end and i could of been in labour before i actually realised! So im guessing, it wont be long now!
YAY for you! good luck.
