Is being 29 to old, to start studying to be a nurse? |
Is being 29 to old, to start studying to be a nurse? No - the only time it is too late to study to be something is when you are dead. Don't have any regrets about what you should have or could have done. However, do it only that you want to. My husband was a British Medical Researcher and decided to become a nurse at 38. In the UK they actively recruit woman who have been stay at home mothers and are coming back to the workforce. I can see that happening in the US if the nursing shortage gets any worse, and why not? If you think about it more mature women make better nurses, especially if they have been mothers. Mature nursing stuents have a beter understanding of pain, social problems, and humanity than younger people, just through experience of life. Please do not be concerned about being to old at 29, or 39 or even 49. Defiantly not. If it is what you want to do, and you are willing to spend the middle part (30s, 40s, etc) of you're life doing it, go right ahead! I know plenty of people who had kids at an early age, and started their carriers later. No, 29 is still very young when you consider you now have to work until 67-68 to draw Social Security. not at all. you are never too old to get a secon edu. My philosophy is..."you are never too old". Follow your heart. NEVER!!!! i think anytime you find something you would enjoy doing, go for it... it doesn't matter, I know the ladies in my nursing classes are 40+... you go chica!!!! No that is not too old. What makes you think that? You can be whatever you want to be just put your mind to it |
