How do you approach a close friend you dated and miss very much.?

I became friends with my neighbor after living next door for 1 year. We dated and had a wonderful time, he is an awesome friend. He is comforting in life's storm, and always there when I need a hand studying my nursing work after my girls go to bed. Then the father of my 2 girls(ex-husband)thought we could work things out, and my family is important so I said ok, we can try. My neighbor was so cool about it and even encouraged me to do it. He had to go to Florida for the winter and we stayed in contact. In the mean time things have not worked out for my ex & I, but my neighbor found someone he likes (she's from Russia)and went to see her there for 2 weeks after he came back home and we spent some time together. It was so nice to see him. I missed him very much. I am so glad he is back. Now she may be coming to the US to see him. It really hurts to think of them together, but i want to be there for him. So, what should I do?

Tell him the truth. That you value your friendship, and miss him very much. Let him know that you and your ex are no longer together. Go from there. If it is meant to be, it will happen.

just talk to them and say hi and tell him that you missed him.

tell him how u feel and tell him whats been going on cause if he is that great of a friend then he will understand !!!!
