Nursing In hawaii? |
HI!! Im an Immigrant here in hawaii from philippines... Im planning to go back Philippines to finish my nursing studies there... can I work as a nurse in hawaii even thouh i graduated in philippines?? how?? You can definitely work as a nurse in Hawaii, once you have your nursing degree, and pass the nursing board. You can work as as nurse, but you will need to pass the nursing board first. I am not Filipino, but I have worked with and do work with Filipino nurses who got their degrees in the P. I. and immigrated here to work. The one thing I remember one nurse saying, is the language becomes an issue when taking the boards. She was part of a study group set up to help native Ilocano and Tagalog speakers prepare for the test. When you return, see if you can find a simular group. We need nurses, and it would be a shame if you have a hard time with the boards, simply because English is not your first language. |
