I am 40 years old and I am studying nursing. Do you think this is a good choice?

Do you think it is not too late to become one?

Yes do it congratulations and for the second half of the question, No way it is never too late for self improvement.

We need more nurses welcome aboard!

maybe, doesn't nursing school take like 6 years?

Great choice thank you...we need more nurses

No it's not too late, that career field is in demand of right now.

Sounds good to me. We need more nurses. You still will have 20 years or so to work as a nurse.

No. Do what you consider is a good choice. It's never too late to do something that you really want to do.

not at all, its never too late. Im studying for nursing and its one of the best professions out there. The program is of 2 years but you can always make it in less then that, by taking summer and winter courses. It's a perfect choice for you to decide to enter the health field, regardless of your age. Good luck on everything you do.

There is a terrible shortage of nurses right now and looks to be one for some time to come. Thus, the job market in nursing is wide open. On the other hand, many nurses complain about working conditions. There is a lot of stress and because of the shortage, there is sometimes too much work. But all in all, it is a fairly good profession.

A onetime Professor in a School of Nursing, now in a medical school

Go for it!! If this is where your heart truly is and you're passionate, your passion will drive you / pull you and you will finish to the end. I'll be 37 next month and I'm changing careers from I.T. to being a Firefighter EMT. We've put it off long enough, but no lookin back now. God bless you with your new career.

Monetarily? Nursing is very worthwhile. Aside from that, it is a job that requires a lot of hard work; however, it is very rewarding - most doctors will not help as many patients as a single nurse will in his/her lifetime.

It is never too late to do anything as long as you love it
