An interview at University of York to study Nursing Mental Health - what types of questions will there be?

An interview at University of York to study Nursing Mental Health - what types of questions will there be?

You won't get asked about different types of depression......of course not......you havn't studied it yet!!
Don't worry too much. They just want to see what sort of person you are and whether they like the look of you. ie They might ask if you have any hobbies --- so I suggest thinking of a couple, eg swimming, or reading (in which case what books are your favourites...). They WILL ask why you want to do (mental health) nursing...so you need to have an answer ready.
They always finish by asking whether YOU have any question you'd like to ask them. Don't mention money. Have a question ready, OR say something like "No, I think you've answered all my questions, thankyou".
Its not too frightening.......just smile and be nice.
I used to go for nursing interviews, and my son went to a lot of interviews (including York) before getting accepted to start a psychiatric nursing course.

Glad of that!! Dress sensibly (keep the jeans and flashy stuff for when you've got in), appear like a really nice caring person (like u are!), and really........just sort of "be yourself".
You're not expected to know anything...they havn't taught you anything yet!
Good Luck! Report It

Do you pick ur nose on the toilet

what would do it... this happened, the different kinds of depression, maybe. what are ur strengths/weaknesses, how will u contribute to the world of mental health... It all depends.. If u are going to get a nursing degree and just work in mental health, there will be a certain kind of ?s.. If the degree is actually mental health nurse there will be another kind of ?s.

I would look into service user involvement - very big on that at mo! Good luck, not much money going that way these days.
