Can H.I.V possitive patient study nursing?

Why cant he or she? I see no reason why one cant. An HIV positive person can do anything that an HIV negative person can do. HIV positive doesnt mean aids

i think you can study whatever you like, but you have to disclose your condition before doing any clinicals or work study

Sure, you can study it. You may want to find out though if you can pratice that field or not before you start course work. That field involves a lot of needles and blood work .. and that is how H I V can be spread accidentally. Good Luck ! :)

yes they can, it would be unlawful to deny education to an HIV patient but I guess you would have to reveal the status.

Yes. Just because you have H.I.V doesn't mean you cant do a job. But you are going to have to let your school and when you go to work know about it. And you might get judged for it. Or treated differently. But you know that.

Yes they can. I'm not even sure that they have to notify their employer of their positive status. I do know that if they willingly spread HIV to others whether it be intentional or unintentional (by placing themselves in a position to contaminate someone) they are criminally as well as civily liable.

Yes you can. What is the difference between the patient and other student, nothing, you can be what you want to be, nothing is preventing that.

Im sure you can take nursing. I dont see why not. If they deny you it would be descrimination. And if you do get into nursing, they would probably have someone always assist you to make sure of no blood from you contacts anything. Pray about it... God will take it away from you. I, myself see that you put your personal matters behind you and go ahead to help people in need.

anyone can study ANYTHING...landing a job might be the hard part.
Although HIV/AIDS is transmitted through bodily fluids there could be the SLIGHT chance that a nurse could have an open wound and SOMEHOW transmit blood to a patient. I think think the chances of this is incredibly SLIM, but i don't really think it's safe to be working around needles 'n such if you are HIV positive.
I think it also depends on the type of nursing one chooses...ex. The ER is probably not a good place to work, but something like an Occupational Nurse might be an option! :)

you probably can but it wouldn't be a good idea to work around really sick people since you may have in increased risk of catching something yourself. you could do mental health nursing or something like that.

yeah you can but you must be really careful since you are prone to infections and you might also... you know... transfer...
