I had abdominal surgery in November 05? |
I havn't healed. I have a hole in the surgical site that is 3cm by 3cm and 3cm deep. I ahve a nurse that packs it daily and I'm still not healing. She said stress could be the cause of the wound not healing. Is this true? Are you a diabetic? They tend to heal slow. No if you have no other problems, like CA or Diabetis, or immune problems, that should have healed. I had ABD surgery, with stitches, and even under severe stress(I just got a separation from my now Ex Husband), I was healed and the stichess came out 10 days later. I had no opening, and I even gooved up because I painted my new pad within 7 days of surgery. u could have a disease that doesn't allow u to create scabs so most liely no she's wrong. What does your doctor say? This seems very unusual. Check out this site: yes, ok, this is unconventional and should be looked at with utmost caution. Oil of Oregano worked for my mom when one of our dogs nails caught her by where her thumb bends, and ripped the skin open, she really should have gotten stitches, but she kept it covered with gauze and bandages, the gauze I believe was actually soaked with the Oil, she did this for a week or two and it healed, she doesn't even have a scar. Not likely, it could be the medication you are taking for pain that is causing the slow healing. It could also be that she is packing the wound too tight and not letting it heal properly, or it could be infected? is it red, warm to the touch? is there any pus when she pulls the packing out? she may be using the wrong packing technique, this type of third intention healing needs to be lightly packed with gauze soaked in sterile water and let dry to debride the wound of any irritants or infection when the packing is taken out. That is a large area for the body to regenerate all the necessary tissue and skin cells, if all is being done properly then it may just be taking awhile b/c it it such a large area. |
