Broken Nail? |
I broke my nail deep into the nail bed. It is starting to grow out, but I want to protect it so I don't want to rip it off while it is growning out. I have tried surgical skin glue, steristrips, and nail polish. I am a nurse so bandaids won't work since I am constantly washing my hands, and don't have time to change a bandaid everytime I wash my hands. What can I do. See the pic attached to see how the mail is broke. The surgical skin glue I tried was both dermabond and mastisol. Did you consider going to a nail salon and having it wrapped? Nail tecs use some silk wrapping when they put acrylic nails on to protect and make them stronger. Then they overlay acrylic and it usually has to grow out unless you let it sit in acetone for a long time to melt. Don't pick it off because you run the risk of tearing the nail again. dermabond? |
