I'm having trouble at work....?

i started this job about 4 months ago.. i constantly get accussed of not carring about my job..i have caught on many occasions co-workers talking about me..when i approach them and ask them why..they act as if they weren't and this pisses me off..i have gone to both my supporvisors about this asking them what's going on and they say people think i don't care..this kills me because i do..i am extra sensitive around my co-workers now..and feel all eyes on me..i have asked my suporvisors if i should transfer and they don't want me to go..but i hate being classified as the asshole of the group..i am a surgical tech and these are nurses mostly talk ****... any ideas on what is should do or what you would do??

Welcome to the world of working with lots of women. By your name I assume you are as well. It's a catty thing isn't it? If you're serious about your job and don't socialize with them you're not a team player and etc.... Though, you could be the best worker there. Doesn't matter. Politics and cattiness (sp?)... You almost can't win unless you become one of them (you will be assimulated (Borg)). It's a tough thing to sort out when it happens. Just do a good job with a good attitude and all will work itself out. It may not be for the better and if that's the case I'd move on to another job...

Ignore them and confine yourself to doing a good job. You aren't obligated to be friends with these people and I suspect they want you to be friendly so they can cut corners in their job responsibilities. Stick to your guns.
