Surgical techs and cnas?

so i have my cna but i really havnt had a chance to get any experience using it becouse after i got it i had a baby but now that i can use it no one will hire me becouse i have no experience and it sucks.... i dont know what to do? also, i was thinking about doing surgical tech for OB but im not sure, eventually i want do to nursing in OB 2. do you think taking that class would be a good step forward for my career? i am so confused right not and im not sure where to start, i really dont wanna go back to waitressing... any advice on where to start please?? thank you..

Speaking from an RN perspective, I did the whole career ladder where I did cna, lpn and RN if you want to see I would not do the surgical tech program, it will not help you in the RN program there is so much more to learn as an RN and working as a floor nurse. If anything get your LPN and don't let having a baby stop you , it is too easy now for people to obtain their degrees from home. So keep your head up you will know what to do in the end.

I just got a Nursing Assistant certificate as well, just so it "looks good" I guess, Surgical Tech is my next step as well, and the NA will look good attached, dont you agree?

as a CNA you have to get hired on to any company and set through little classes given every 2 weeks. at the end of the year they add up your time. that is how they determine if you have to get re-certificated or due a refresher course. try a hospital or clinic, so the work want be so hard on you. Nursing homes are very hard (I know because I use to work in them over a course of 6 years. then i finally gave it up.)
to answer your other question. if you want to be a nurse in the OB then go for it. start your classes now. it want hurt if you volunteer to get a feel for it.
GOOD Luck. i am back in college full time
