Can anyone recommend a good shoe for surgical nurses to wear? |
I will be on my feet all day for hours at a time. I am a surgical nurse, and the best shoe I have ever put on my foot is called a Mizuno Nirvana 2. They are pricey, but a great buy if your looking for a solid shoe with a nice breeze passing thru it and support. I work w/ 2 other nurses who also wear the same shoe. They are just fantastic. You can purchase them off the internet or you can buy them in sports shoe stores. They are light and the mesh fabric in the shoe breathes your foot. They have an arch support which is great inside and the sole of the shoe is supportive. I even bought a pair for my brother in law who just had open heart surgery for his fitness stuff following surgery and he loves them. I hate to recommend them, because I hate how they look, but I would imagine Crocs are all the rage. How 'bout 'Heelies'? You can zip back and forth really quick!:) JUST GO BAREFOOT. IT'S THE MOST HYGENIC, i see alot of nurses and cna wearing crocs, they say they are so comfortable..... doc marten try this website; http://www.goodfeet.com/new2/company-hom... I've had Red Wing work shoes for construction work, for factory work, and now as a health care pro. Only thing is they don't come in a wide range of colors, and might not even be available in white any more. However, they are supportive, comfortable, of excellent quality, a good value for the price, last for many years, and get a free "tune up" each year at your local Red Wing dealer. i'm a medical student, so i've been in theatre several times to observe surgery, and the shoes we get given to wear are either Crocs or Dr. Scholl type clogs The best work shoe, and probably the best shoe out there, are the Red Wings. They have excellent support and are built to last for years. Cant do better than those. crocs! they're so comfortable. SAS brand. They probably cost more than $100 now, but a pair can last for many years, and they are as comfortable as a shoe can be. I had my first pair for 10 years, wearing them almost daily, and I had them re-soled a few times. I still have my second pair. In fact I still have my first pair, they are beat up but still serviceable for rough dirty work. |
