Surgical scrub nurses/techs? |
I am a surgical scrub nurse (LPNII) in Arkansas. What is the job market like elsewhere? How are the working conditions at your job? I would like to go to other places eventually. I am only wanting to know about surgical jobs in the OR. Thanks! Well, I don't know about anywhere else, but don't think about moving to Florida. The demand for all types of nurses is high everywhere and there wouldn't be a problem finding a job, but the pay is a slap in the face. Also, Florida legislatures are trying to pass a law now that will allow nursing homes and hospitals to not have to meet the minimum nurse to patient ratio for two years. That basically means that these facilities will be allowed to lay off health care workers rather than continue to keep hiring them. So, stay away from Florida! I am an LVN in California. It seems there is a demand for nurses everywhere. I've only worked at a hospital (med-surg). But I hear it's easier to get into an RN program in California. If working conditions don't suit you just get another job. It's easy enough here in CA. |

It really depends on your preference. Nursing will allow you a wider range of options as you can be a nurse in the OR, intensive care units, regular floors, ERs, or you can practice in schools or p... their work schedule is very busy.maybe $100,000 per year ...I am a surgical nurse, and the best shoe I have ever put on my foot is called a Mizuno Nirvana 2. They are pricey, but a great buy if your looking for a solid shoe with a nice breeze passing thru ... I think it really depends alot on you. I am a speech pathologist so I can tell you that you have an opportunity to work in a very wide variety of settings...kids, adults, medical, educational. I ... When my wife graduated as an RN I bought a nice canvas bag and had the medical emblem and her initials embroidered on it. seems medical people carry a lot of stuff with them tools info purse etc M... Been there and done that. A scrub nurse is one who passes instruments to the surgeon during an operation - stands right beside the doctor to be able to see the operation clearly and be able to pas... The only reason tattoos are even questionable in the workplace is because some people view them as unprofessional. But if these tattoos are hidden, then there is no chance of you looking unprofess... Go for it its alot of education and hard work but a well paid sometimes disapointing often rewarding career...... did I mention the stress ???? ... |
