What is the test called where nurses..... (very descriptive!!)?

(My mom took me to the urologist yesterday because i have a dilated kidney and they are having me get 3 tests done. But i don't know the name of one of them)

They are going to go through my urethra with tube that has a camera on it. Then they are going to inject this liquid into me that makes me pee so they can see how it travels and to find out if i have a blockage in my kidney. Then i will pee into a catheter. Does you know what this test is called? I want to look it up to find out if it hurts and things like that. I am really nervous about having it done. I am only 15.

I think you are describing a voiding cystourethrogram (VCUG) It is done in the x-ray department. Here is a description from web md:
A cystourethrogram is an X-ray test that takes pictures of your bladder and urethra while you are urinating. A thin flexible tube (catheter) is inserted through your urethra into your bladder. A liquid material that shows up well on an X-ray picture (contrast material) is injected into your bladder through the catheter, then X-rays are taken with the contrast material in your bladder. Additional X-rays may be taken while urine flows out of your bladder, in which case the test is called a voiding cystourethrogram (VCUG).

I have seen this done in the radiology department where I work. They will put a numbing gel on you so that you do not feel pain. You still might feel a pushing sensation as they are inserting the tube, but other than that you should not feel too much. It is mostly just uncomfortable. Good Luck

i'm not exactly sure what the full test is called that theyre doing to you. BUT i had a cystoscapy (not sure about the spelling) its where they put the tube with a camera up my urethera but thats all they did. Anyway they put me to sleep as im sure they will with you. When i woke i wasnt sore or anything i just bled a little the rest of the day when i went to the bathroom. Dont worry youll be ok.
