Have anybody travelled by plane around 15/16 week pregnant? |
My nurse said it will be fine still wants to know real experiences. I traveled internationally (14+ hours each way) this past summer while pregnant. I left when I was 13 weeks and returned when I was around 30 weeks. I also did another short (3 hours each way) international trip (left at 32 weeks and returned at 34 weeks). My daughter was born 23 December and is perfectly healthy and happy. I have also traveled internationally at various stages with my first two pregnancies (my children are now 8&5). Yes it's fine. Yes, actually I travelled when I was 24 weeks pregnant, and everything was ok! You'll be fine....it's not any different than travelling without being pregnant, except making the belt a little bigger and not running as fast thru the airport!:-) Good luck and good travels!:-) Here is my take on this. Yes, it is safe. However, consider the fact if you are traveling during flu season (right now it is peaking). If one person on the plane has the flu, you will be exposed to it through the air system. Is that a risk you are willing to take? While there are always risks, I just wouldn't want to deal with that problem until after the flu season was over. I flew from Texas to New York and back at around 12 weeks. Everything was fine for me, nothing different than my usual flying experiences. I have and it's perfectly fine. |
