Does anyone know any stories about Helen Duncan.?

The famous Scottish medium who lived in Edinburgh. The reason I am asking is the last time I was in hospital, some of the nurses were talking about her. I mentioned I had a book about her life and offered to let them read it. Six maybe more have now read
the book and I got it back this morning. I was just wondering how far her fame had traveled.

but she is a person that I admire very much
an amazing woman who stood up for what she believed in , even if that led to such suffering
her grandaughter is still fighting to clear her name

Thanks Alexandra I used to sit with friends and listen for hours about Helen's Meetings.
I also have Alan E Crossley's book and It confirms every thing I was told. For any one reading this animals materialised at Helen Duncan's Meeting'recongnised them and they recognised their owners. Report It

As you know by reading Helen (Nellie) Duncan's life story, she had a horrible ending to her life via an ectoplasm trance. When sitting in physical circles Helen use to visit the circle via a physical medium, and she use to get upset about the standard of mediumship of the present day, and according to Helen "mediums of modern times were havering a lot of poppycock" Helen in my humble opinion was one of the great physical mediums that Scotland had and Helen was no fraud. Her family are trying to clear her name, and one of her grandchildren is the spitting image of Helen. All her grandchildren are developing their mediumship. The S.N.U. have also taken up Helen's case and they are trying to clear her name, which has been a long time coming as Helen should have been tried for witchcraft. I have met Alan Crosswell who has now passed away but he use to sit in Helen's circle .According to Alan Helen did not suffer fools gladly and woe betide anyone when Helen lost her temper. I have got a photograph of Helen, which I treasure. I am sure her fame has travelled worldwide,especially in the psychic and Spiritual fields, due to the fact, that she was the last person to be imprisoned for witchcraft. Yes I am also a devoted fan of Helen Duncan.
