What could be the cause of my ovaries hurting?

Lately my left ovary has been hurting lately. Its been hurting bout a couple weeks before my period comes on Its like a throbbing pain and it hurts so bad sometimes that the pain travels to my knee. Do ya'll think it's anything serious? Would really appreciate a nurse or doc.

It is most likely ovulation pain. But best see GP and double check.

If you would appreciate a nurse or doctor, why not go see one before it costs you your ovaries. It could be a cyst but without proper diagnosis nobody here will probably be able to help you.

My first impression is why are you asking here, and not your local physician?

Visit your OB-GYNE for consultation to examine you first hand.
He/she will give you very valuable advice and medications you need.

I get that, too. I think you'might just just having pre-menstrual cramps (yes, these actually DO exist), but you should probably talk to your gynocologist anyway. There might actually be a more serious problem that's making things worse.

well lets see i was having the same problem but they couldn't find nothing for years they said nothing was wrong so i lived with pain for years.i had to have one ovary removed... told the doctor about my left one she said she couldn't find anything wrong but when she goes in she would check and it was enlarged then she removed that one too... so check it out don't wait. good luck

well that pain is termed medically as Mittelsmirtz pain. It is a pain associated with monthly period.... If your pain comes from the left side of your tummy then it connotes that your left ovary had release an egg for fertilization if possible, like wise is same through with the right side .... So, thats all ...Hope i help.....(",)

it is surely recommended 4 u to see a doctor
i think seeing a doctor every week is requires to be healthy
and of course pay attention to choose a good doctor
it is very important

Probably u ovulating..but then again it could be a cyst....its best to go see ur doc...he will be able to help u better

Could be ovarian cysts, PCOS or just plain ovulation pains. A simple blood test and ultrasound will rule out the 2 more serious issues.

Not to scare you but it could be anyhting fibroids tumors cysts anything just go get checked out.
