Questions about Flying with Delta?

Ok, so I have a couple questions. I'm flying for 4 hours coach tommorrow with Delta. What kind of snacks do they give out? Would they have a movie? My 18mo old is sitting on my lap, and he's still nursing. If I bring a shawl, do you think anyone will have a problem? Any tips for traveling with a toddler? Anything you could tell me would be great, as this is only my second time flying.

They will have food that you can "buy" during the flight. They will also hand out free drinks (non-alcohol) and pretzels. The food on board is kinda expensive but so is all food in the airport. As far as feeding your baby, Go ahead. If you are sitting in the aisle try to ask your seat mate if you can have the window so you can conceal a bit more...im sure they will understand. Tips for traveling, During takeoff and landing make sure to give the toddler something to suck on.....either feeding or a pacifier. This will let his/her ears equalize from the pressure change. Otherwise you will have a very incomfortable child on your hands. Also if you need extra time boarding make sure to ask at the gate and they will let you on early so you can get situated.

The cabin of the airplane is pressurized but usually they allow the pressure to reach the equivelant of 10,000 feet. I'm not sure how familiar you are with driving up into the moutains but this could cause pain in the childs ear. It may happen during takeoff and landing.

You may find that Delta charges for food, so pack extra crackers and cheese or dried fruit. They may have a movie depending on what time you fly. I would suggest that you nurse your son in the bathroom, because in such close proximity doing so out in your seat might make some other passengers uncomfortable. If you have room, pack plenty of books and music for your toddler, and maybe let him play around before you get on the plane so he'll be tired out and want to sleep when you board. Just make sure not to pack any liquids, since the airlines will make you throw them away. This includes water, but they provide it on the plane. Hope this helps!

They don't "give" you much-they sell it. Bring your own comfort food. As for breastfeeding, I'd be cool with it and would hope anyone else would be too. You might want to ask or let your seatmate know. Hopefully, you'll have a decent being there. As for a movie, that is unpredictable-depends on where you are headed. Have a safe flight!
