Child Birth Classes w/ OB Nurse - Challenge with her constantly "rescheduling"!!!?

My OB Nurse at the OBGYN office I go to teaches Child Birthing classes at her home. She's $65 an hour and covers everything in a 2.5 to 3 hour period. She sold us on using her because of this. My hsuband travels Sun-Thu weekly so we are limited when we can go. Since she has them on weekends, we signed up with her. Last August she recommended we schedule with her very early as slots fill up quickly. We signed up for end of January on a Sat. She called me last Sat and rescheduled b/c her "son and daughter" are going on a cruise and needed her to keep the kids. I htought to myself "how unprofessional" but rescheduled with her to 2/3/08. Then she called me yeseterdya and said "Oh I forgot, I'm going to India... I need to reschecdule again." Well I was pissed this time. Should I drop her? She thinks that I'm being "over-reactive" but I think she shoudl find a baby sitter for her grandkids during the 3 hours she is suppose to work with me and my husband... don't you?

yeah, i'd find another one that'll show her that rescheduling for petty stuff isn't acceptable. I mean how inconsiderate and when did she know about going to India? if you'd already rescheduled once she shoulda a) made sure that time was available or b) not made her trip the same time as the when u rescheduled for. that's jus showing she doesn't care about your time only hers and you don't need that

$65 per hour! yikes that's pretty pricey. I'd cancel, I woudn't keep hoping I could count on her, and for those prices, I don't want to be left twiddling my thumbs.

Yeah, that's really unprofessional. I would find someone who can keep an appointment, who know how reliable her information is if she is already this flaky, and if she'll even be there when you get there for your real appointment, or if she'll fit you in before you have the baby.
