Is this Good?

I have writen a story, not all of it yet. I asked on here for traveling experience and i have writen the reply.

I figured I鈥檇 write this bit about travelling around and about the world. As I have never yet been travelling myself I have had to ask for experiences of others.
* * *
One experience I have read about was teenage girl. Only 16. She has just qualified as a nurse in the US and was travelling to El Salvador. It read as followed:
When I was 16 I went with a group of nurses to El Salvador. We would sleep in the city (in a church, on floor mats) at night and every evening the church workers brought fast food for us for dinner; usually chicken. Every night it rained non-stop but by morning and throughout the day the skies were completely blue and free of clouds. Then in the morning we'd get up and drive an hour or so on messy dirt roads. The scenery was beautiful - volcanoes, lots and lots of green, guys climbing banana trees to cut down the fruit.

When we got to our destination we'd set up a mini clinic. The towns were small. They had very skinny stray dogs walking around looking for someone to feed them. As soon as we arrived word spread like wild fire. People were walking miles to come see our nurses. They would say they had tons of symptoms even when they didn't because they needed the medicine for when they did have that problem and no nurses were around to help.

We saw tragic things. There was one woman who had a 5 year old child that was obviously dying. He couldn't sit up, couldn't feed himself, and couldn鈥檛 do anything. When he was born he had encephalitis (water head) and the fluid on his brain damaged his brain. She begged us to bring him to the US for an operation to fix it but the damage had already been done and nothing could fix it. There was another woman who had skin cancer. In our little clinic we didn't have the technology to deal with cancer. We gave her all the aspirin we could to hopefully ease the pain.

Sounds good :) Keep going =D

Not enough sexual content for my liking ... :-P

It is a good captivating read but I did not agree with your advice that,

"If you ever get a chance to travel to a location that is not tourist filled - do it. Tourist locations are fun but nothing like traveling to see how others really live."

A tourist is generally looked down upon as a "foolish thing" by the locals. If one travels just to see how others live, then you should be very careful and cautious. They may not like you even if they smile. They do smile but not with you but at you, at your stupidity.
Before you continue with your sizzling story, I'd recommend for you a novella by Jamaica Kincaid - A small Place. It is short and quite reader-friendly. Grab it and learn a few things about locals and tourists.

good luck
