Why parents let children wear thong underwear?

I seen an travel brochore of an anonymous US costal city showing an photo of an mother holding an toddler at an beach. the toddler wearing only thongs. It's very distasteful photo. also I see girls bras and panties are black ,girls underwear shouldn't be black. only in woman sizes should be black only.girls underwear should be in bright ,pastels,or prints. I see why child sexual abuse and teen pregnancy is high. they adding grown up clothes like thongs and black undies on children.these parents never protect their normal children, the only children I see protect is children with special-needs,because parents overprotect them like US Secret Service protect President Bush.We don't hear special-needs children being abused.(unless it's nursing homes or institutions),the biggest is normal children the ones who being sexual abused or teenage pregnancies. Parents need to stop dressing up children like the late Jo Benet Ramsey,like grown up sex objects.

I had this same conversation with my husband the other day. We went to Walmart and saw bright blue bras with rhinestone hearts on them FOR KIDS! I was disgusted. I don't know what the industries are thinking but they wont be getting my business.

You certainly have a point. Parents do this coz they want their kids to look cute and pretty - no other reason. It`s not an invitation for some monster to come along and abuse them. If a child was walking around naked it is not an excuse for some bad thing to happen to that child. Paedophiles are are paedophiles - and that`s that. Doesn`t matter what the child is wearing - their mind is still on the same thing - child sex. A normal man / father would look at a child dressed in pretty beach wear and think - cute - just like any mother would. Only animals will look at a child in a sexual way. You are wrong about the special needs kids being the only ones not abused - they are way high at the top of the list - a lot of them can`t tell anyone.

You are completely wrong. Disabled and special-needs children are abused and raped all the time. It's just not as heard of because many of them can't speak up for themselves. Although I do agree with you that young children shouldn't be allowed to wear adult underwear. But I don't think there's anything wrong with black underwear.

You cant blame the parents solely on it, the people who make it are the ones to blame for it, But again its all about the society that we live in and how things like that are portrayed in our culture, This kids are influenced by their idols whether they are movie stars or musicians. They want to be like them and have the most popularity in school.

I agree with you. I think the parents are stupid. Why any parent would let their 12 year old daughter dress in halter tops, thongs, mini skirts, high heels, or spaghetti strap shirts that show half your chest is just stupid. It's no wonder girls get raped all the time if their dressing like bad girls. My daughter will NOT be dressing that way and I wouldn't let her around girls who go around almost naked.

i agree kids need to be dressed like kids however you are wrong about special needs kid snot getting abused. I am a special needs kid and have been physically and sexually abused...yes it has happend in my adult life but special needs kids are more at risk then the reg ed kids. My mom went a seminar in the 80's right after i was born and they said that 85% of people with special needs in one way or another gets abused...its absolutely true. So be careful about what you say

Uh get over it...in europe girls, boys, women, men go naked on the beach, out in the yards, and at swimming parks. theyaretaught it is normal and just a part of their life. they do not see it as bad. once you teach them it is bad then they start doing bad things and wanting to know why and disobeying. funny how there are not the kindof problems here as there are in the states. we are so much more free.

May be you can learn something and some facts about child molestation, since you don't have a clue as to what molesters look for when they select their prey. You also said that special needs children are not abused or not as much. Man you need to do some REAL research and stop assuming and making up things.

I don't see what's the big deal about young girls wearing thongs. It's just an underwear. People need to get over it and accept that thongs are here to stay. People say that they are too sexy for young girls, well, for a lot of guys (including me), panty lines are very sexy too. Especially when they are going up the butt. I know it may sound sick, but I鈥檓 being honest about what we guys like. So what are you going to do? Tell young girls to not wear panties so that they won鈥檛 show any panty lines? You also have to understand that when people are ignorant about any specific subject, they often make up whatever they can to support what they think it鈥檚 right. A while back during college, I wrote a research paper related to criminal behavior (of robbery, rape, and child molestation). Something that most people don鈥檛 understand, is that these type of criminals (just like most other criminals) are opportunist. The robber doesn鈥檛 look for the biggest and strongest person to rob. A rapist doesn鈥檛 necessarily look for he sexiest girl walking down the street. The child molester doesn鈥檛 look for the young girl that is wearing thongs. Something that ALL these criminals have in common is the fact that they look for the weakest and easiest prey they can find, as well as the ones that present them the less risk of getting caught.

Let鈥檚 say that you are a young girl and you are at the park. And lets say that a child molester sees you and notices that your thong was sticking out over the top of your pants while you were sitting, but you were in the presence of several other people, in particular adults. Even if they are not with you. On the same park, he/she sees a young girl your age not showing a thong but sitting by herself in a somewhat secluded area. Who do you think that he/she is going to approach? The answer and the reason why is very obvious.

Research have shown that rapist and child molesters care VERY LITTLE about what the victim is wearing, they care more about finding victims that are at the wrong place at the wrong time. That generally means lonely and secluded places.

Hey, why don't we indroduce mandatory burkas like in Iran? I'm sure this will put an end to all child abuse, which is mostly perpetrated by sex predators on beaches and rarely by family members.
