That because people follow Christ that we are incapable of intelligence, free thinking, and are uneducated? I really don't worry too much about it as I know what I am capable of and what I have achieved in life. I am masters educated in nursing and am working on my doctorate of nursing at this time. Obviously I am intelligent. I am very well read, what television I watch is for the most part educational (Discovery channel, Travel Channel, Discovery Times, The History channel , etc). So my question is does it provide some bit of satisfaction on the part of those who attempt to insult Christians by assuming and stating that we are ignorant??? ya know what my dear? do not worry what they think or say. you know what you are, and what you have. && most importantly God knows you. and He knows what your capable of. so don't worry about THEIR ignorance. because what they think doesnt determine you or your life or your beliefs. keep your head straight and right with God. it's not about you as yourself. but about God. keep that in mind. and you will be fine.

A lot better than "If God doesn't exist, why am I so awesome?" anyway...
But like you said, you know what you are capable of, and that's all the really matters. Kinda like what the cliche says.
All they are doing is showing off their immaturity. Not all people assume this, but the idea of God seems contradictory to education, intelligence, and free thinking. In addition, I'm not sure I would use television as a justification for your intelligence, because many of those channels merely breeze over topics rather than actually go in depth into them. Because most of the people that say they believe in God also say that they think we came from monkeys. Thats the moment you know a person is uneducated. Though there are other indicators too. Pay attention on here and you'll see why. thanks! I was going to ask this too.

it's there own wisdom they rely on not God's, and if they are wrong then they were not so intelligent after all How true--yet when I rejected the truth-I also fabricated reasons not to believe in Jesus-I am a Jew with 165 IQ but the day came when money couldnt buy my soul happiness or give me inner peace- and then I came to know Jesus=according to Jesus the Word of God made flesh (John 1:1&14) "Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." Romans 11:17
If ones faith is in anything else they are trusting in error and will fail

Revelation is a key -and Romans 1 said when we are unthankful and chose to worship the created instead of the creator-we need a new beginning in our life.

I can make a religious or non religious "sane"joke but is not for insulting anyone. I have a lot of religious friends that are probably more intelligent than me. Nerveless I'm also impressed by some that are really ignorants or close minded.
Nobody is perfect. Not to mention scores of other people who have IQ's off the charts, who invent, discover, and have the ability to debate their POV. As soon as it is heard that one of these people are Christian, no matter what they are dubbed "stupid, robotic, mindless, idiotic, clueless." Not all, mind you, but the squeaky wheels out there. We are viewed as the Ned Flanders. Apparently.
Many of them are stagnated at the same level of moral development as Archie Bunker; they have everything figured out to suit themselves. And believe that the little bit of knowledge they have is the answer. Many educated Christians are not much better. When I told a friend of mine that God could have created the way revealed by science. i.e., "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.", might cover the first fourteen billion years or so, he was adamant that God merely spoke the word and it was done, but, of course, the word was Jesus not something spoken by God, and Jesus may have created the universe. The days spoken of were just to keep from confusing the thoroughly ignorant people for whom it was first written too much. And stuff like that. Have you ever read a book about evolution? My guess is no. Because you probably think that even reading about it is wrong. You have to open you mind to all ideas and explore. If you are afraid to explore you will live a sheltered life and limited in knowledge Sheesh, some people, educated or not, who saw the miracles of Jesus and heard His teachings still thought He was crazy, stupid, and insane to do what He did.
Like I was told by my parents and I tell my children today when they are treated unfairly or unkindly, "Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words will never harm you unless you CHOOSE to allow them to hurt you."
Oddly enough, I have found that the "true" reason people start an unwarranted and an unprovoked attack is that they fear what they do not understand or either they know (in their heart of hearts) what is being said is truth and they hope their attack will silence the person, as well as, their troubled thoughts and hearts.

It's essentially there to make murderers look, from their public behaviour, like the more "cool", well-adjusted type of person, or at least more likeable than, for example, a righteous person. Flattery, for example, is deemed to be a way of getting around and even a sign of affection but the Bible says that those who flatter their neighbours are spreading a net for their feet.
This is how pagans talk about Christians. 1 Peter 4:3,4 says: "For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do鈥攍iving in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you."
As for the rich people who don't treat Christians well, James 2 says: "But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? Are they not the ones who are blaspheming the noble name of him to whom you belong?" |
