English Parliament?

Englishness has been denied and is emphatically denied any political expression and has not been given self-rule as Scottishness and Welshness have been with their own Parliament and Assembly. There is no 'English Claim of Right' on the lines of the Scottish Claim of Right, framed and signed with ardent intent and deliberation by Gordon Brown and his Scottish colleagues in the Scottish Constitutional Convention of 1989. When Chancellor, Gordon Brown handed over 拢 60 billion more public money to Scotland than to England. Scotland has no University fees, free bus travel countrywide, free personal care in nursing homes for pensioners, no requirement for them to sell their homes to pay for it, the most upto date health system- We need an English Parliament for Englands business only, don't you agree?

As Snodders has indicated the EU situ is the most problematical now to the continuence of England as we know it or perhaps I should say knew it!
We could now say goodbye to what is left of our democracy as we leep lemming like into the abyss which is majority voting and into the ratification of the Lison Treaty. With that will come by default, the loss of our national soverign identity as we take our place in the new rising power block of the EU.
All this without a public debate and without a vote in true antidemocratic manner with no serious Politcal debate.
We the UK shall with a stroke of the pen cease to exist as a soveriegn state.

In England, more effort and money is spent on matters concerning security - due to, some say, our interference in other Countries, ethnic appeasement, fireworks for the New Year and Political Correctness etc..........

My view.

I is proud to be English born and bred however way back when we handed the last of our overseas territories back to their indigenous populace, we have been forgotten by the world. Now our earliest subjugate territories are crying for independence and we are left on the scrapheap. Your best bet is to emigrate. Australia would be a good bet. Canada is well off but has the problem of the French we couldn't get out of Quebec and is dominated by the good ol' US of A. Personally I think that our best bet would be to become the next new US state - we have certainly picked up enough of their nasty exports like coke simplified spelling Starbucks and other disgusting things already.
Alternatively decide you are a citizen of the wider universe like me and forget all the petty national rivalries. After all "No man is an island" (John Donne). Also you are related to every other human being on the planet, so welcome your wider family and embrace it be a citizen of the earth!

this is the most sensible suggestion of 2008 something i have been trying to get into the thick skulls of those that seem to fight against scotts aiming for independance , those against it i.e nicol stephen of the undemocratic liberal party and others with a self interest who say that the people do not have a right of self determination , who do our mps think they are ( HE WHO PAYS THE PIPER CALLS THE TUNE) get on and barrack your mp fot your independance make them buckle under your pressure , YOU pay their inflated salaries (and pensions) so get your monies worth . Yes. However the next move would be a referendum on leaving the EU and independence from the UK. I don't see Gordon (the gofer) Brown liking that as his present over paid job would go and he would have to face the Scottish people to be elected to the Scottish parliament. The reason England has no parliament is that the Brussels dictatorship want to remove England from the map, something the Europeans and Yanks have been trying to do for centuries.

It will never happen when there is a labour government because they depend on Scotland to return enough MPs so they can outnumber the opposition.

Free personal care is, lets face it, something you could vote for... if your government had the will to do it.
I'm not remotely sure where you think Scotland hides that 'most up to date health system' because it's sure as hell not around here.

May I respectfully ask that you lobby your MP to allow an open referendum on Scottish independence?
If we get that, you get your English Parliament in a ready for purpose building by the Thames.
