How can I get a student nurse elective placement in New York or New Jersey? (I am from UK)?

I am in my final year as a student nurse. I want to travel to USA. I have a freind who i can stay with in New Jersey. so i can either get a placement there or in New York. I have been trying for a month with no success.. Help!!

First of you have to do the NCLEX RN and pass before they can even consider you. Also since you are a foreigner you have to do visa screen.Then find an employer to petition for you. It might be hard since visas for nurses are in retrogression now.In New York its even harder for foreign born students who went to nsg school in the usa to get a petitioner.
Look up the state board of nsg for NY or NJ wherever you plan to go, and fill the application for RN NCLEX exam
Then go to gfns international for the visa screen certificate. Search visascreen and youll get the website.
