Do I need malaria tablets?

I'm going to Mauritus in July and I've had my travel jabs and the nurse said I would need some Malaria tablets too but I've looked it up and the web says I don't need them. What do you think? They are also very expensive.

Advice on malaria changes frequently but at the moment no antimaleria medication is required for Mauritius. Advice to you is to use insect repellant, mosquito nets and wear long sleeved clothing after dusk.

your nurse is qualified, is the author of the web page you seen qualified?? Malaria is a very serious disease, best to get professional advice.

I got mine on prescription for free when my son went to Ecuador, see your GP first! You may be lucky.

If not, shop around, the local chemist may be cheaper than the big stores!

It's better to buy the pills than get malaria!
