Please...what is the OASDI IN CA?

I am a travel nurse from MN working in CA for 3 months. I have 3 different deductions taken out of my check totalling 400.00 a month. One is the OASDI, one is CA (SM/2), and the last is the CA SDI? I would appresiate any info. I can't afford to work here and pay this amount. Is any of this refundable? Thanks, Sara

OASDI is the normal FICA/MC payroll tax.
CA SDI is California state disabilty insurance.
Neither is refundable.

You *may* have travel expenses you can deduct, but you need to see professional help.

That is Social Security and Medicare tax.

You want to get a refund on statutory payroll deductions?

LOL.

Social security and Medicare - you pay this for every job.
