I am a traveling nurse, I am living in DC but I live in VA, which state taxes should be withheld from my pychk You pay taxes in both if you worked in both - it would be divided up percentage-wise. If you worked in a state, you owe taxes there. DC is not a state. You pay Virginia taxes. If DC has an income tax you should have to withhold both. I have to do that because I live in Kansas and work in Missouri. "I am living in DC but I live in VA." WTF!?!?! are you living in DC or VA? your question doesn't make sense. taxes depend on where you live. fortunately florida doesn't have state taxes. If you are living in both DC and VA, then you usually will pay a percentage of your taxes to one state and a percentage to the other state or DC. This is not usually an issue if you are only living in a different location for a few days, but could be an issue if you are live somewhere a month or more. Take a look at virginia site and dc tax sites |
