Is anyone a traveling nurse and would you think it would be a good idea to become one?

One of my best friends is a travelling nurse and she loves it.
It all depends on your situation in life, For myself, I am married with a baby so it would be hard for me to do travel nursing but for my friend, she's single so she can visit a lot of different cities and see which ones she likes.

I would suggest you have a couple of years experience under your belt before travelling as you don't get much orientation time on the unit before they expect to work. Also you may be just getting comfortable in one place and then you move to another.

I am envious of my friend's travelling job and probably when my babies grow up and I am close to retirement I will do travel nursing for a couple of years (my husband said he'll go anywhere there's a golf course!)

I am not a traveling nurse, but I am in school right now working on my BS for nursing. I have heard that traveling nurses make great money. I definitely think it would be a good idea.

being a nurse is a great profession. why not combine the 2? if you like nursing and travel, go for it. Have fun and makes lots of money helping people in the process.
