I'm a nurse, I'd like to travel. what's the best company?

anyone know a good travel nurse recruiter? I hear that's the most important part....

A rich and handsome patient. ;-)

Try the armed forces.

Be a traveling nurses. Get online or look in the back of the nursing magazines. Go to an employement agency, they can refer several. You need to explore your options. See what you want and then find an agency that can offer it to you.

Contact O'Grady Peyton in Cape Town, South Africa they are really good and have jobs world wide. Can't give you their ogpinc email address as this site cuts it off

I'm a sleep tech/resp therapist. CompHealth is a pretty good company.

Try this company: http://www.crosscountrytravcorps.com/cct...

www.usajobs.gov

This is the website for federal jobs - including nurses for positions in foreign countries. From experience, I can tell you that working for the U.S. gov't while living abroad gives you more options. The pay is good, hours dependable and you'll have a chance to live and travel everywhere.

Just remember, there is a thorough background check going back 15 yrs.
Good luck...

Try the ARMY. I have several friends who just joined as officers. The ARMY paid off their student loans and they get weekends off during basic training. lol. One is going to Hawaii, the other to Germany. Several in their class are going to other cool places... Japan, Maryland, etc.

Good luck!

favorite nurses

For travel here in Australia try seek.

I traveled with Surgical Associated Services out of Denver, Colorado. They are a very good company, and take care of there staff well.

The following are all great places to look online for good deals on travelling expenses.
travelocity
orbitz
expedia
delta

AFRICA!!!

I used to work for the MHA Group. Use the RNDemand company or AMN has traveling nurses. They are payed very good.

I would not know a name but a Personal Assistance agency in your area could put you with a patient that travels. It would be a 1:1 work environment, travel expenses would be paid and these agencies tend to pay at a higer rate that typical

The Military.

What about Doctors without Borders? They could probably point you in the right direction.

A cruise line or the military would be better able to direct you to their hiring agencies. You could start there (although the military would tell you to go to their recruiting office.

I bet one of the local colleges could help you too. Check with their guidance offices especially colleges that offer nursing programs.

Lastly you could check with Doctors without borders for volunteer basis nursing - you'd get the travel you're looking for, but I don't think it's a pay thing.

dod DEPT OF DEFENSE
ALSO US ARMED FORCE (NOT MY FIRST CHOICE)

ALSO CHECK WITH EDUCATIONAL SYSTEMS AND CRUISE LINERS.

I traveled with Cross Country Trav Corp for 3 years, they have a very large data base for jobs, I had made a list of places I had wanted to visit and was able to check them all off. They take care of their nurses, they are very competitive and if you tell them that other company is offering more money or better deal they will match it to keep you. It's a well known truth that their housing is the best in the industry, always close to work and in a safe neighbourhood. And you want that... There are some companies that will show you a package deal that looks very appealing and then put you up in an unsafe place to save some bucks. I had met a fellow traveler that had to end the contract for that reason. Most of the big companies are a safe bet, all the small companies could be good but why take a chance. Also when you have an issue with the hospital CCTC sticks with you. Some of the small companies will not because to them it's more imp to keep the door open to the hospital then take your side.

In conclusion, I think any of the big travel giants are a good start and then when you know the in's and out's of the trade try a smaller company.

Maybe I would be the best company. How old are you ? Where do you want to go?

You may have heard of this one: "Doctors Without Borders".
You get to travel, plus help people in areas that really need help.

I don't know what's up with all these military people on here.

I've heard Cross Country is ok, and since they're big there are a lot of different places to go.

Travelers I've talked to seem to LOVE Aureus.

I've heard some bad things about Favorite.

Work for a cruise line.

check with govt consumer agencies for complaints find those not listed.
ask some major hospitals or places you' d like to work who they use.
had a friend signed up moved then found out he signed some fine print to work all usually 12 hour second and graveyard he saw a mostly a pillow when he'd hoped to see the world.
disaster.
read the fine print.

THE NURSING MAGS I GET IN THE MAIL HAVE A LOT OF OPPORTUNITIES IN THEM FOR TRAVELING....PICK UP AN AMERICAN NURSE MAG , OR SIMILAR...THEY WILL HAVE A LOT OF REPUTABLE COMPANIES, THAT PAY WELL...GOOD LUCK...I AM CURRENTLY IN NURSING SCHOOL...CAN'T WAIT TO CATCH UP TO YOU.....

Holland America cruise line would be worth considering. I would think you should also consider the military services.

try the army . my answer is short but ohwell. i am in a hurry, even though i am trying to get a best answer thing ,ohwell.
Try the army and save lives, thx.
(i love your hat its awsome!) i hope that helps you.
