Becoming a travel nurse?

I did travel nursing once to help me move out here to Phoenix. I've been here for a little over 2 years and I want to move on again. This time though, I want to travel around a good bit before I settle somewhere. Well, when I moved to Phoenix I had a bunch of hand me down furniture and left it all back there and just took what I could in my car. After I stopped travel nursing here, I bought all new furniture, and even a washer/dryer. Should I sell everything and just take what I can in my car again? Or should I got one of those PODS things where you can store your stuff and then they bring it to you later? I might travel for a couple of years. The thing about a PODS unit is they will only deliver them to cities where they have branches, but I probably will settle in another good sized city when I stop moving again. Any thoughts? As a travel nurse you take assignments that are usually 13 weeks in length or longer and they will provide a furnished apartment to you.

As a past traveling nurse recruiter I often was asked this same question. I always answered depending upon how long the nurse was going to travel since like you said they are usually 13 week assignments and sometimes a place of residence is offered. It also depends on where you want to settle because you are making so much money now compared to having a regular position at a certain hospital. You have to take in consideration of using all the money up on storage. My nurses always sold their stuff because it is too hard to work and worry about how your stuff is from has anyone broken into my storage unit to the storage units selling the property because they claim they haven't been paid. At least that is what my nurses have gone through.

you should sell it. I moved cross country and it was $3000 to move 2 POD like things, and that was just my personal belongs, no real furniture. It would be cheaper to just sell it and buy new stuff wherever you end up.
