Can anyone give me any information on travel nursing?

I've been thinking about travel nursing alot lately-- just trying to see whether or not it's really for me. If anyone could share experiences, information, or advice, I'd really appreciate it. Im not only interested in traveling in the US but also looking into traveling abroad (such as England, Ireland, etc). Any information would be very appreciated.

I am a traveling nurse. I love it. The money is good and you get to see different parts of the country. It is almost a paid vacation. Make sure you do your home work and research agencies. There are a lot of them. Some give private free housing and others want to stick you in dumpy motels. To be a good traveling nurse you have to be outgoing and adaptable. Good luck

I have one question for you: What are you waiting for???
I currently work as a travel nurse, and for the most part, it has been an awesome experience. I have worked in several states and have made darn good $$. I rake in well over 100k/year, not to mention the many tax benefits. If you look online, there is a tremendous amount of info out there on travel nursing and there are hundreds (if not thousands) of agencies.
My advice for you would be to do some of your own research online. You could use any search engine, or even better try allnurses.com and go to the "travel" forum, where nurses ask and answer each others question about travel, agencies, etc.
If you have the desire to be a traveling nurse, the least you can do for yourself is try it. Honestly, I love it and am sorry I did not try it earlier! If you are afraid to quit your permanent nursing job outright, consider taking a leave of absence, so you can try travel nursing on for size.
If I can succeed as a traveling nurse, my guess is that you can too! Best of luck to you!
