Is their a Licenced VET in the house?

I have a one year old cat. This morning he had an accident attempting to climb down our terrace.( I believe it is mating season and spotted a female cat.) He had fallen down and has a wound that needs to be stitched. He is now at the Vet overnight for the operation. Can a Vet give me proper advice in taking care of a post-op cat. We are getting him tomorrow. Professional advice please.

Your veterinary clinic is the best place to recieve advice. They can answer any questions you have relating to your cats operation. Make sure to ask any questions you have, even if they seem silly or simple, they are their for this. I have three kitties myself and each have had seutures(relating to spay/neuter operations). What I can tell you is if your cat is outside a lot, the hardest thing will be trying to keep him inside. Keeping him calm and rested will help him heal faster whether he understands this or not! Licking himself is another biggy! Be ready to put one of those embarassing cones on the little guy for a week or so. He may give you the evil stare but he will love you just the same when you finally take it off him. Cats are known for their poise and flexibility, but it's the humility that really gets them in the end.

follow your vet directions on post-op care!!
