Can a college reject you after they accept you?

I've been accepted into a school which isn't an Ivy or anything, but it's still kind of hard to get into (so I'm proud of myself..it's McCombs school of business at UT) but recently my grades have been slipping like crazy, and I wound up with a C in one of my tougher classes. I'm majoring in business and the class I have the C in is physics, but do you think they'll really care? Someone told me they can turn you down if they see you're not working hard enough. I got good scores on my SAT/ACTs but it might not be good enough. Help! Serious responses PLEASE!

PS: GPAs freeze after this six weeks for me, which is in one week.

A university can absolutely reject you after acceptance, and pretty much for any reason other than "protected class" discrimination (gender, race, etc.). The likelihood of that happening due to a "C" in physics, I believe, would be remote--now an overall drop in your GPA by say .3 might trigger a review. You said your "grades having been slipping like crazy," so I will assume that means most or all of them. What you are describing sounds like a case of senioritis, and for a school with the reputation of McCombs, you may need to check it and fast!! As long as the hit to your GPA is not significant, you should be alright. Check with your admissions advisor at the university, not your high school, and see how you are doing. It is always better for them to hear about something like this from you, rather than discovering it when your transcripts are received. Good luck!!

The college won't care about something so small, however if you start failing that would be another story.

yes they can and they do it often

A college can reject you if your GPA goes too low. Not for one class though.

One C is not going to get your admissions rescinded. Just don't put yourself in a position where your grades get any lower. McCombs is a really tough school to get into--congratulations. And it's not just the Ivy League schools that rescind admissions-U.Washington infamously rescinded the admissions of several students last year.

yes, because you have to submit your final transcripts. C's aren't THAT bad, but it could give them basis to accept you on a conditional basis (meaning if your grades don't improve they won't fully accept you) or reject you all together.

Look at the acceptance letter. It depends on what kind of acceptance you've received.

You can get a conditional acceptance, in which case they say they've excepted you, but your part of the deal is keeping your performance up. Or you can get an unconditional acceptance, in which case you only have to pass.
