Nose Piercing?

Can anyone help me I had my nose pierced almost 5 weeks ago and have developed a small bump on the inside of my nose. I've been told it's a keloid and if it doesn't go away I will have to remove my piercing. I've been using doctor pierce anti-bacterial cleanser to care for it, the bump has never pussed or bleed, is there anything else I can do to care for this problem I really don't want to have to remove my piercing. When I had it pierced it was done with these new nose piercing guns which is thrown away after each use I've been told that the guns are bad could this be the reason I've gotten a keloid? Also for about 5 days when I had it pierced I was using peroxide which I was told from a pharmacist that using peroxide will take it longer for the wound to heal, so I stopped and bought the anti-bacterial cleanser. Also I have a straight post in my nose with no backing and occasionally it comes out when I'm sleeping can this also cause it to take longer to heal?

Getting your nose pierced with a gun is pretty bad because it's a blunter object being forced through your nose which is not only more painful but also harder for healing. That said, it's too late now so I shan't lecture!

My nose ring fell out a LOT during the first 2 months whilst I was sleeping and it was insanely painful to repierce it myself - properly made me a cry a couple of times, just not nice. I recommend you sleep with a band aid covering your nose, maybe with a bit of cotton wool between the stud and the band aid to stop it falling out - it would have saved me a lot of pain.

Also when it's healed enough to change the post I recommend you get a stud that has a back - mine is a diamond and the back is kind of like this:

I use tweezers to place the back in from inside then screw in the front and it never falls out. Alternatively you could use something like a labret stud:

Peroxide is pretty harsh and that would make your healing time longer but at least you've stopped. I had a tiny keloid in the beginning but I just kept cleaning it and doing what I was meant to and eventually it went away *I don't actually remember when though, I've had my nose pierced for nearly 4 years now*

I think if you just keep the piercing, don't let it fall out and change the stud when you can you should be fine. Worst case scenario, if it's still there in a couple of months and still bugging you you can take it out - but until then, enjoy your piercing. Good luck.

its probably just a little air bubble. but yeah if it doesn't go away you need to stop wearing your noes ring

Well, maybe only take out your piercing for a couple of days. See if the bump clears up.

some people's bodies are naturally prone to heal with keloid scars. sometimes they have to even be surgically removed. although i don't imagine yours is that big or bothersome....but there's nothing much you can do at this point. --- you probably should've gotten pierced with a needle...i didn't even know they peirced noses with a gun anymore. it sounds like you might have gone to like a mall or something. try going to a real peircing place....they are usually really knowledgable and can probably give you some advice.
good luck.

Try using sea salt and warm water. It made my keloid go away, there is no need to remove the piercing unless ity gets infected. Good luck!!

My niece developed a small keloid in one of her ears from having them pierced. She had to remove her earrings and let her ear piercings grow shut.

A keloid is an overgrowth of dense fibrous tissue at the site of a healed skin injury. It can continue to enlarge in size.

I had the same problem. Here is what I did:
I went back to my piercer and he popped the keliod for me (sounds gross I know). I trusted him to do it because he used a sterile needle to pop it, and put on antibacterial cream and cleaned the area really well. Then he told me to wash it with spectro jel and nothing else. Also he told me not to use stud post, and not to buy cheap nose jewelry from Claires (and places like that ) because they bread bacteria. So only buy real silver or gold nose screws NOT studs. Also studs will solve you problem of your nose piercing falling out at night. So once it does heal change the stud. So, ya, go to your piercer and it will be gone within a week! Good luck!

DO NOT USE PEROXIDE!!!
i cannot stress this enough. it's too harsh for the piercing.

what you have is most likely hypertrophic scarring. put a little tea tree oil on it and it should clear up.

also, clean it 2-3 times a day with 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt water and hot water. (the hot water causes the blood to rush to the surface helping it clean better).

i suggest going to a proper piercing shop, and asking them to change the stud you have in now for a proper L-shaped one. they will give you correct aftercare instructions.

never, ever go back to the person who pierced it with a gun. ever.

It could be a keloid or just some swollen skin.
You might want to get a nose screw.
The nose pin falling out will cause it to take longer to heal.
You may also want to try a new cleanser.
Just try cleaning it with unscented, anti-bacterial soap and then you could soak it in a mix of sea salt and distilled water.

If you dont use a stainless surgical steel nose stud then in most cases this could most likely be the case, i have had this happen to me before, so i changed my piercing to a stainless surgical steel nose stud and the lump went away, also, when i went to ask the tattoo store were i got it pierced they said you can never tell weather the piercing is 100% stainless steal cos of cheap imports. Anyways i have heard that using tea tree oil has helped removed lumps or infections from the nose ((but do not use a cuttonbud to apply this to your nose)) Heres some helpful links to treating the course:
