Refering my kitten that had a whole in his chest and a worm alive inside the hole. It was a bot fly. Yuck !!!?

I want to say thanks to all of you who wrote.
Nothing is more heartbreaking than to have a sick kitty and not be able to afford vet care.
I called several vets in the area and offered volunteer services in exchange for treatment but that wasn't even an option. I knew it was a long shot but I thought I would try.
I treated the kitten with triple antibiotic ointment and peroxide to help keep the wound clean and fight the infection. I have found out that bedidine solution is what you should use. Delute the bedidine until it is a tea color. Flush the wound. Peroxide dries out the skin and can creates another problem. My last resort was a vet that comes to our local feed store, once a month. He give shots, sells flea treatments and will test for heartworms, etc. He is there for only a 1/2 hr so everyone is on the move quickly. This man was so kind and his girls so helpful. It was beyond what they were supposed to do but he removed the worm no cost and my kitty is on the mend. :O)
