After adult circumcision question...?

i did my circumcision 4 days ago. Went to visit my surgeon yesterday for wound inpection, and he commented that the wound is healing very well.

however, i have a few questions....

- i seem to have a small blister on the tip of my penis. i hope it heals on its own soon, as its bugging me when i pee.
- some sort of yellowish fluid is comes out from my penis from time to time. Any idea what that is? Part of heal? When will it stop?
- penis feels very sensitive now...

here are the questions..

- how long before it heal?
- any tips on how to take care?

my surgeon gave me 1 week's worth of antibiotics. That should fight off any infection. He did comment on the blister, said that it was due to frigtion against my underwear....

It is hard to tell exactly what is happening from your description, but I doubt you have had enough friction to cause such a blister. You haven't been running any marathon races I am sure.

You need to see your doctor right away, you need to have a culture taken on the yellow fluid, if he will not do it, get another doctor now. You might have a staph infection which could even be drug resistant. If this is the case the infection could do a lot of damage very quickly. You have only one penis.

Circumcision, like any wound, is going to be very tender for about a week, but after four days is should not be as sore as it was the first or second day. If it is getting worse or feels hot, something is going wrong you need to get competent medical help, and a lawyer.

Complications occur at a rate of about one out of ten circumcisions, most are minor but some result in disfigurement, loss of function, loss of the penis or even death.

yellow pus is infection and the blister might be just that. visit another gp for 2nd opinion

yellowish fluid coming out...could be urine if the surgeon went a little too deep with the blade :)

No seriously, if it is a clear yellow fluid, it's probably just serum. If it's cloudy or thick, that would more likely be an infection. Relax, you just had surgery. Take the antibiotics your surgeon prescribed. Your going to be a little sore. This is your PENIS after all, very sensitive to begin with, doesn't help to have sharp blades cutting into the tissue.

As for the blister, it could be due to friction. Most are. If it is single, then that is probably the cause. Just be sure that they don't become multiple or have a red base. This is how herpes can present.

It can take upto 2 weeks for it to heal enough for the pain to resolve. Even then, the skin won't be very strong, so be gentle on it. Keep the area clean, don't wet it or use soap while the stitches are still in place. And he should have given you something to prevent erections (like Amytal) as this can cause the stitches to bust. And I would say no sexual activity for at least 2-3 weeks.

i've wanted to get myself circumsized, but with hearing guys like yourself having problems I've always thought against it. Why did you have it done? A mate of mine had to get circumsized and he ended up having his penis in a tub of iced water for a week as he couldn't handle the pain. I think, Do as little as possible, and relax for a while, It's going to hurt for atleast 2 weeks. (Just don't get an erection, that's the last thing you'd want now!!
