Global warming does no one really care?

Our planet is slowly dying while politicians fart about with empty words,cash hungry airlines continue to pump out their crap into the atmosphere,selfish drivers who use high polluting cars just to satisfy their over-inflated ego's,and power companies who put profit before caring a damn about the damage they do,the technology is here with alternative energy available,bio-fuels,wind and solar power and yet we still drag our heels while our earth is destroyed,so does anyone really care?

I think that the majority of people are concerned with Global warming (GW). Unfortunately, with competitive pressures, economic globalisation and peoples desire in poorer countries to have a higher standard of living is causing them to concentrate on the present and not the future.

In relative terms, GW has only come to our notice in recent times - I would approximate about the last 15 to 20 yrs, which is a mere blip in the history of our planet - Ironically while the global corporate Co's are steam-rollering through with their destructive polices there are some Co鈥檚 that are catching on to the money potential of new energy sources & opportunities, techonologies etc. These efforts are fragmented at present, as indeed is government will-power around the world. However despite this, I think that with tangible evidence of global warming, eg, increasing erratic weather patterns, floodings, droughts etc, this issue is only set to become more and more important. With advancing technology and considering just how much people have become GW aware, I think that TWICE as much progress will be achieved in the next 15-20 years.

I understand your perception of government in-action (blimey, I sound like a politician !!!) , however I think that this cause will gain increasing importance over time. Even though I have said that people are concerned, I still think they are more worried about the National Health service, Education & Pension policies first. Therefore, regardless of what government is elected, only a combination of financial incentives, taxes and laws will force businesses & individuals into action. These 鈥渦nsavoury鈥?ideas will grow to become more & more acceptable/pallatable to voters & indeed justifiable, as the effects of GW continue to increase - Well that's my theory anyway !

Ken Lay Bragged That Gore Had "Solicited" His Views On Global Warming.

and the tree huggers get more to cry about, global warming is a natural occurrence, there were no planes or cars when the global change killed the dinosaurs.

The people that care are the ones making all the rip-off taxes up - the world has been warming up since the last Ice Age!

If it is 'slowly' dying why should I care? It will 'die' thousands, or millions of years after my own passing. If I were to think that I as an individual creature could have any effect, wouldn't;t that be the most arrogant approach ever? Global warming is a myth. The planet will prevail, until it is killed by another planet.

There have been many climate changes in the past, long before we had good accurate records.

What makes you think that anything we do will alter the inevitable changes?
And where is the proof that making changes would result in the desired outcomes?

Nope, I don't care about your junk science.

Unfortunately, I think it will take a global disaster for people to wake up. It makes me laugh when people say that global warming has happened before so don't worry about it. Yes, the planet has gone through warming before, but the difference is that earth wasn't overpopulated thousands of years ago. Back then people had space to migrate and there were plenty of resources to survive.

Even if you don't believe in global warming you cannot deny that humans are destroying the planet and it is not going to be a pretty sight if we do not do something about it now. We are running out of all sorts of resources and putting a huge strain on ecosystems.

There is a huge carnival in London on 4th November to highlight climate chaos and bring it to the Governments attention that they should be doing more. I don't think we should give up and politicians do need pressure from the public. Some of us drag our heels and do nothing, but some of us, including myself are environmentally active and do care.

We are still coming out of the last Ice Age, get a grip boy!!!

Mother Nature makes sure we don't do anything stupid, she'll wipe us out before we can hurt her!!!

It's not Global Warming.... get that into your head. The planet NATURALLY has "up and down" stages in its climate... ever heard of the axis tilting? CLIMATE CHANGE. Right now, we're thawing from a mini ice age and slowly going into a warm period.

It's funny... when we get back into our next mini ice age, people will start going nuts and thinking about that film, "The Day After Tomorrow".
