Why don't we tell people how demanding Turtle care is? The wonderfull Turtle deserves a comfortable enviroment

but most people as myself were not aware of the size they grew to and the needs because of this. Then the Turtle winds up improperly cared for and dies or let go in a wild pond and either hurts the enviroment or dies.I believe these creatures deserve more protection with a required course for prospective owners and test even if it only took 1/2 hour what do you think?

I so agreed with you. In fact it is illegal in my state to sell turtles, for that reason alone. Turtles are meant to be wild ,just as a mountain lion or tiger. But still there are humans that think they WANT ONE for a pet?????????????????

Most of the people posting reptile care questions are either too stupid or too lazy to research them.
Then they post their question here, giving absolutely no background info, and expect to be spoonfed a textbook of information in a single sentence.
It's frustrating!

I do agree with you to a point. My thinking is that if a turtle is crossing a road in a highly populated area like the city,or walking in a field where they are doing lots of building. Then you should take him or her away figuring that its going to get squashed. They would definitely get a better and health eyer diet at someones house that knows how to take care of them and wouldn't have to worry about naturally predators. I think it is OK under certain circumstances.

when i recevied my 3 turles no one ever told me about them .i have had them for 3 years and i wish i could sell them but no wants them because of this reson but in arizona were i live they just passed that you have to no what you are doing to buy a turtle under 2 inches .pepole do not now that it takes so much to care for them they cause saminella and stuff like that
