Moles removed from back: Follow up care?

Within the last 5 days, I had 2 moles (dime sized) removed from my back. I am experiencing some pain (stinging, sorenes), but the sites where the moles were removed are solid white with a bright red ring around them. I was told to stick with Vaseline and bandages, and to stay away from Vitamin E/scar treatment until fully healed. What about Neosporin? Will this help with the pain and healing? I feel like by just putting Vaseline on the site, there is no cleansing of the wound, and Neosporin will provide some anti-biotic care?

Also, what scar treatment is the best? At what point should I apply this?

Thank you!!!

I don't want to go against the recommendation of your doctor, so before you change your treatment regimen, please discuss it with your doctor.

I would fill the wounds with triple antibiotic until they are healed enough to leave uncovered. This will handle the pain and redness, and should speed healing.

Also, scar treatments are "after-the-fact" treatments, and can only be applied when you actually have a scar. If you get it to heal correctly, you minimize the risk of scarring.
