How do you care for a self inflicted bite wound? |
I'm bipolar and fliped out and bit 6 chuncks out of my arms. It was 8 days ago and now they have gotten big and red, but haven't spread much. 3 are healing well and 3 larger ones are a bit infected and when I squeeze them I get a fluid, puss and mix out of them, but nothing green. I soaked them really well, messaged in neosporin and have the wrapped up with gause and loose atheletic tape so I won't pick at them anymore. You think that should heal up in about 2-3 weeks? I am not willing to go to the doctor. Bite wounds are among the dirtiest wounds there are. It's hard to clean them properly because they go deep and are puncture wounds. You very likely need a good antibiotic and monitoring for sepsis. you need to seek medical advice. just go to a drop in service, ask for help but decline to give your details. think that they would help. |
