How do I care for my cats open absess/wound?

she went to the vet and has been given antibiotics.

Use boiled water that has cooled down and add a little salt. Bathe the wound with this regularly, atleast twice a day. The only problem with this method is that the cat will probably dislike it, so remember to keep a firm hold on the cat.

Keep her in one room and make sure its warm and cosy for her.
Make sure there are no sharp objects around that could harm the wound.
Don't let her outside and just give her loads of love.

I recommend that you apply neosporin on the affected area, twice daily. You may want to gently apply a gauze to the area for the first couple of days, then, Let the wound "breathe". Oxygen helps to heal. If the wound does not begin to show signs of improvement within a week, take him back to your vet. Don't wait, the infection will spread.

if you have taken her to the vet then they should have given you directions on how to care for the wound. IF he didnt i would be findin another vet. The best thing is to keep the wound clean and be sure to use all the antibotic that was givin to you.
