How will i care for the wound of a diabetic patient?

How will i care for the wound of a diabetic patient?

To qualify the above statement:
A lot depends on how well the diabetic takes care of their self.

I heal quickly, and trim my own toenails... just like normal folks. Just because you are diabetic, does not necessarily mean you must be lumped into one category. Not all of us diabetics have the problems associated with high blood sugar. If you eat properly, keep your weight down, exercise daily, and manage your blood glucose well, you will minimize your risk of having all of the problems normally associated with diabetes.

To Cammie: I think aga is a doctor.

it depends on the type of wound
the size
the location
the severity
diabetic wounds are slow to heal- prone to infection and can cause serious complications
if it is a small scratch type wound keeping it clean and dry might just be the answer but observe carefully for infection
any wound on the legs or feet should be seen by a professional as the possibility of complications leading to amputation or skin necrosis with need for surgical debridement and /or treatment at a specialized wound care center(and that could last for months) is more common than people realize
Btw diabetics should never cut their own toenails- it should be done by a podiatrist due to the risk of infection and potential need for toe amputation as a result of infection

Do whatever the doctor suggests.
