How do you take care of your wound after the stitches are taken off?

ok i just toke the stitches off of my pinky today. do i just wash it with soap and water like before? the doctor did not tell me anything -_-

I'd just use warm water (can be salt water) but avoid using soap which has chemicals not good for wounds. If you want to reduce scars, using a very mild moisturiser on the tissue will help skin regenerate.

I'd use an anti-bacterial soap. Also, soaking in a warm saltwater solution is VERY beneficial for healing. Once, I cut the "web" between thumb and forefinger pretty badly. When the stitches came out, the wound gaped wide open --- there wasn't enough blood supply to the area to coagulate into a scab and heal. My mom kept telling me to soak it in warm saltwater, and FINALLY I listened to her. In just a few days, a NEW "web" grew. Huh! Thanks Mom......

You can put vitamin e oil on the scar itself to help it fade away. Just be careful about reopening the wound, and you'll be fine.
