How do you properly take care of a pencil stab wound?

Today at school I accidently stabbed myself with a pencil and it's really deep, luckily the lead didn't break off inside though. But I was just wondering how I properly take care of it. I'm not sure if I should use stuff like hydrogen peroxide since it's pretty deep...

Also what should I take for the soreness? When I move the muscle in my hand where the stab wound is, it's really sore and it hurts

Just clean it with an antiseptic and cover it with a band aid, its only a pencil your not going to die from it.. (people are so soft these days)
And remember, wounds heal, pain fades and chicks dig scars. =)

the peroxide will help to keep infection away and it wouldn't hurt to have the school nurse or the Dr. check it for you as you say it is very sore=good luck

just clean it well with anteseptic, and if the area is red in a few days and it is sore, it is probably infected and you should see a doctor. Puncture wounds have a higher tendancy to infect

I stabbed myself with a pencil. Immediately clean it. Hydrogen peroxide or alcohol (0uch) will do it. Keep it clean, really clean. Wash with soap a lot, really alot. Keep it covered at all times. If it doesn't start to heal, see a doctor, nurse practioner, etc. I'm not a doctor. By the way, I have a black tatoo where the pencil entered.(ten years ago). See, it's not all bad, look on the positive side, you got a free tattoo!
